Hind Shoe Required Measurements

• Measure the widest part of the hoof.

• Measure from the front to back.

Add to the length as you require- you must consider the comfort of the animal and the support of the hock when adding to the length.

• Type and style of shoe, size of nail

• Ounces requested

• Amount of padding to be used.

When measuring the hind....

Some stop the measurement at the back of the heel, yet some measurements extend past the heel for hind support. Many hocks are sacrificed due to the lack of support

Extending the heels isn't just for cosmetic appearance and not just for supporting the foot, it's also for supporting the hock and up into the hips including the back.

The back end isn't set to percision, the front end will not function properly.
